Zone Limitrofe: Location and surroundings of this property

The name of Villafranca appeared for the first time in 1190 in a written document containing the foundation act of Santa Cecilia's church. Villafranca's toponym is probably referring to an area free from excise on goods, that was constituted anciently by small rural municipalities which were trying to escape feudal constraints. Moreover the location of this territory at the border between Padua and Vicenza, at that time, could have facilitated the birth of an urban centre with such particular economic exemptions.
Villafranca Padovana is just 15 minutes drive far from Padua's centre.
