Neighbourhood “Portello”. This area of Padua is at the edge of the historic centre and is currently a university citadel. It holds splendid surprises from a historical, artistic and architectural point of view to those who decide to live here.
The neighbourhood was born as a berthing port for the many boats that crossed the river Piovego arriving from Venice; in the wonderful sixteenth-century door "Porta Portello" or "Porta Ognissanti" one can still see traces of it.
