Bergamo Provincia: Location and surroundings of this property

In the area called "Castello", just above the village, in the hilly saddle that connects Cenate Sotto with Cenate Sopra, we find the renowned Castello Lupi. Originally the ancient Suardi family lived here, politically linked to the Visconti family in Milan. In 1442, after the conquest of the territories of Bergamo and Brescia by the Republic of Venice, the castle and all the land annexed to it, confiscated from the old owners, were sold to the soldier Detesalvo Lupi, as a sign of gratitude for the military work from the same turn next to the Serenissima in the war of conquest. The most significant part of the nucleus is certainly "Palazzo Lupi-Albini", the oldest, probably the first arm to be built by the Lupi between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, it is the one placed to the north with the church of San Francesco Saverio of 1740. Today, a recent renovation has transformed it into a condominium immersed in a park.
