Luino: Location and surroundings of this property

Luino is the most important city on the Lombard shore of Lake Maggiore from an industrial, commercial and touristic point of view. It is a typical, elegant Lake town with a quiet Mediterranean habitat. Luino is characterized by history and culture with an inclination for literature. Luino is famous for its wonderful lakeshore dotted with plane-trees and with harmonious palaces architecture. The new lakeside promenade has two playgrounds, an aerial bridge on the Lake, and a beach, “Le Serenelle”, recently certificated for its excellent bathing levels. Another beach, not too far away from Luino, is in Colmegna hamlet, famous for its crystal-clear waters. A walk through the historical centre, with the narrow streets, the Renaissance and Baroque palaces, the arcades of the inner courtyards, the artisan workshops and shops, is also very beautiful. One of the main attractions of Luino is the market on Wednesdays. It is a real weekly fair, with more than 350 stands along the downtown streets and the Lake, where visitors from all over the world come to visit it. The market in Luino is a cosmopolite, picturesque and colourful folkloric show. For sport and Lake lovers, there is also the Upper Verbano Sailing Centre, one of the very first on Lake Maggiore. However, thanks to the capillary transport system offered by Lake Maggiore Navigation you can easily reach the Borromean Islands or the neighbouring Switzerland. Not far from Luino, in Maccagno, we can find the little Forcora Ski Resort, while if you want to enjoy a breath-taking Lake view, then you should definitely plan a trip to Agra and follow the path named “Giro del Sole”. Luino boasts a strategic position thanks to its proximity to Switzerland and to the railway connection to Milan and Canton Ticino.
