What you should know about this house

Amenities and special features of this house

The history of this historic building is noteworthy. Three floors of white stone, which overlook the small but characteristic Square Guenzati, in the heart of Gallarate. A real story of ninety years ago, in a decade that saw major building changes, before the crisis of '29 forced a slowdown. The design of the wonderful facade was entrusted by the owner Annibale Orlandi to the architect Giulio Arata. A challenge began, which saw the construction of the building against the monumental central station of Milan, the object of an acceleration imposed by Mussolini himself. In fact, he himself would have ordered the entire production of Aurisina stone to be diverted to the construction of the monumental station. Also, in 1928, the building intervention was approved by the Municipality, after an agreement on a somewhat anomalous request: the municipal administration had insisted that the square in front of it be reduced in extension and therefore offered the Orlandi the possibility of extending the property towards publish it away. Today it is offered for exclusive sale, what looks like a whole block with double entrance, the main one from the noble part of the structure and the other from via XX Settembre. A space with internal courtyard, full of liberty elements that enhance it.

Gallarate città: Location and surroundings of this property

Gallarate rises in the plain of the Basso Varesotto and has the morainic hills of Crenna and Cajello behind it. It borders the municipalities of: Cavaria, Cassano Magnago, Busto Arsizio, Samarate, Cardano al Campo, Arsago Seprio, Besnate and tends to cohabit with some of them and to constitute a unitary nucleus with the other centers of the Alto Milanese up to Legnano and beyond . The municipality belongs to the Parco Lombardo del Ticino although it is not surrounded by the waters of the Azzurro River. Gallarate is an industrial center active in every sector. Large industries, small and medium-sized enterprises and artisan businesses contribute to giving variety to the productive life of the city. The traditionally very lively trade has taken on new vigor thanks to its proximity to Malpensa Airport.
At the end of the 13th century it became the capital of the Seprio region, a historic region of Lombardy between the current provinces of Varese and Como. Even from those years he began to distinguish himself as a lively commercial center in the upper Milan area even during the dominations he lived with the entire State of Milan.
In 1860 Gallarate was awarded the title of City and in the following years it grew larger absorbing some neighboring municipalities. In 1927 the city became the province of Varese following the suppression of the district of Gallarate.
In 1966 the city was awarded the medal for the meritorious of the school, culture and art.
