What you should know about this villa

Amenities and special features of this villa

This prestigious palace called "Palazzo Anselmi", located at the beginning of the main road of the ancient village of Arcevia, stands out for its great historical and architectural prestige that has remained intact over time, as well as for its large size, difficult to find in properties of this value. Completely renovated in the second half of 1800, probably in honor of the wedding of the illustrious owner, Count Anselmi Anselmo, the building incorporates the ancient houses of the Zitelli nobles and, in particular, of the extinct branch of the city of Gubbio's Gabbianelli family and a palace of the duke of Urbino, Federico, built after 1475, of which interesting portals remain. The Palace has a noble brick façade, neoclassical curtain and dominates, by the windows, the underlying territory that extends from the green sloping areas of the garden to the horizon,up to the sea. Inside there are perfectly preserved frescoes of the 19th and 20th centuries, impressed not only on the ceilings, but also on the walls and a rich private library of local authors, as well as two internal chapels, from the smallest of which were available the religious services that were celebrated in the adjacent Church of S. Francesco. In the basement of the building are also located some beautiful cellars, with wooden barrels for wine that, on the occasion of the annual "Grape Festival", set up in the Castle of Arcevia the last weekend of September, are open to the public for tastings and banquets, also using the inner courtyard.

Further Properties: Location and surroundings of this property

Arcevia is one of the most important towns of the Ancona's hinterland because of its history and monuments. Built on the slopes of the Cischiano Mount, in a unique panoramic position, between the Apennine Mountains and the rolling hills that slope towards the sea, the city is surrounded by greenery and in contact with nature, enjoying a mild climate and healthy air that have always made it a privileged place for summer stay.
The medieval urban structure is of great charm and, together with the surroundings in which we can find 9 castles dating back to the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, it evokes an aura of mystery that keeps being alive over time.
The name Arcevia derives from the Latin noun arces via, that means fortified place and was attributed by Pope Pio VII with an apostolic letter dated 16.09.1817. In medieval times, it was called "Rocca Contrada", probably from the name Contrado - perhaps from the Germanic "Konrad" - a gentleman that has owned the Castle of Arcevia in the past times.
The historical heritage of the village is also testified by a document that shows the inscription of an ancient tombstone with the following content: "The Gauls Senoni have founded me and called me Arcevia, the Lombards have possessed me, the Gallic King (Pepin the Brief) has increased me and held me, the son who is emperor (Charlemagne) has given me to the Pope ".
In the surroundings we find the cities of Senigallia and Ancona, the capital town of the Le Marche Region, as well as the airport of Falconara Marittima.
