Centro Storico: Location and surroundings of this property

The property is located in the heart of Verona, in a very central position and two steps from the shopping streets, in a crossroads of alleys between via Mazzini and Corso Portoni Borsari that testify to the passage of time and the overlapping of architectural styles over the centuries. Palazzo Mosconi, built in the eighteenth century by Adriano Cristofali, was damaged by bombing during the Second World War, which destroyed an entire wing. It was subsequently purchased by the Banca Cattolica del Veneto, which entrusted the restoration to the famous architect Libero Cecchini, who rebuilt the facade and designed other spaces for the bank, mixing the modern use of concrete with the pre-existing Romanesque, medieval and sixteenth-century styles. In this context we find the typical noble houses of the city: the main facade of the building occupies an entire side of Corte Farina. The ashlars, squared stone blocks used for construction, are almost all in tuff, and are also found in via Catullo, vicolo del Guasto, and throughout the entire Corte Farina, giving uniformity and coherence to the area. After all, the whole center is dotted with historic buildings, the headquarters of important banks and institutions. At the same time there is no shortage of restaurants, typical bars and trendy shops. In two minutes you can reach the central Piazza Erbe, home to the market, the hub of tourism and the soul of the city.
