Malnate: Location and surroundings of this property

Malnate located only 8 km from the capital Varese. It is the first town to be found along the SS 342 Briantea towards Como. The municipality consists of other localities in addition to the main core: Folla, Rovera, Monte Morone, San Salvatore and Gurone. The Malnatese territory is limited to the North West by the Bevera River, to the South West by the Olona River, to the North by the course of the Lanza River, to the South East by the Quadronna. Between 1500 and 1700 Malnate became a fief of noble families: from the Visconti to the Visconti Borromeo, to the Litta Visconti Arese and then in the following centuries it passed under the Cisalpine Republic, was part of the Napoleonic empire and became the scene of military operations during the first two wars of independence (Garibaldi's passage). Furthermore, Malnate gave his blood contribution to the two Great Wars; in fact many were the Malnatesi who fell on the war fronts.
