This beautiful century-old villa is positioned on a hilltop in the outskirts of the village of Scurzolengo. On the ground floor you’ll find a central entrance hall, leading to a spacious dining room and a large kitchen on the southern corner of the house. With its fireplace and comfy seating it’s a welcoming place to spend time during the winter months, but with its exit to the south-west facing terrace it’s also the place to be during the rest of the year. The lounge area is particular because it is developed on 2 levels. The main lounge is spacious with ample space for entertaining guests. Next to that there are two other sitting rooms, ideal for spending some quality time alone, reading, or with the family. There is an apartment for a full-time custodian on the ground floor of the villa: it comprises a kitchen/lounge, bathroom and 2 bedrooms. The apartment obviously has its separate entry. On the first floor there are 7 bedrooms of various sizes, 3 bathrooms, 2 study rooms and a linen room. There is another lounge, on the second floor: a “tower room” with spectacular views to the south, west en north. Underneath the house you’ll find a double garage, a large basement (former wine making workshop) and an “infernot” (wine cave). In front of the villa there’s a lovely rose garden, leading to the pool area that is spectacularly situated on the hill slope, south facing and with a magnificent view on the Monferrato landscape. Invisible from the terrace above is the large veranda along the length of the pool. Another level below is the car park with 4 covered parking spaces and another 6 in open air. In total there are no less than 5 hectares of land, now partially planted with hazel orchards. Particular (because uncommon in the Monferrato) is a little olive orchard.

Scurzolengo: Location and surroundings of this property

The small village of Scurzolengo is located about 15km (20') from the historic city of Asti. It lies in the middle of the Monferrato wine country. In the wider area the barbera grape is dominant, but Scruzolengo is one of a handful of villages that can (also) be proud of their Ruchè DOCG appellation.
The rolling hills of this part of the Monferrato are particularly nice. For good reason Scurzolengo and the surrounding villages call themselves the "colli divini": the divine hills.
However small, Scurzolengo has some bars and shops, all at walking distance from the villa. Supermarkets and shopping facilities are about 15' away, by car.
Scurzolengo is situated in the middle of the Monferrato countryside but nevertheless it is easy to reach as it has a motorway exit only 7,5km away. You are in Torino (in the city center or at the airport) in less than 1 hour. To Milano Malpensa or Linate takes about 1,5 hours and to the heart of the city a little longer.
The villa used to belong to Piero Dusio, former Formula 1 driver and entrepreneur. - he created the legendary Cisitalia sports cars brand in the 1950's. His workplace was in Torino but prefered to live in Scurzolengo. One easily understands why.
