Costigliole D'Asti is in the middle of the Monferrato Astigiano, well known for its castle that dominates the territory, whose origin dates back to the year 1041. In the following centuries, it passed through innumerable vicissitudes up to the Asinari marquises of which it was an important figure of the Risorgimento Countess of Costigliole, who linked her name to the fate of the Savoy Kingdom. Costigliole is also the Piedmontese town with the largest area cultivated with vineyards in all of Piemonte, and therefore boasts a remarkable wine production. The castle is now the home of the International kitchen center, home of the famous Barbera auction, and is the cultural fulcrum of many initiatives dedicated to music,art, and well as good food and wine excellence.
