This charming property from the 1300s is located in the historic centre of the medieval village of Toirano.
It was the guardhouse near the Porta di Borghetto known as Portassa, the remains are still visible.

Toirano, one of the oldest villages in Italy, is located in Val Varatella in the province of Savona.
It was founded as a Roman settlement and Byzantine fortification of which remains traces of walls, towers and ancient houses; later it was part of the Ligurian Republic.
The old quarter called Torracco is a succession of houses, narrow streets and small shops. You can admire the portico, next to the Church of San Martino, the bell tower from 1300, the only one surviving of the towers of the city walls and a beautiful stone bridge from the 12th century.
But nature also offers its beauties in Toirano: vineyards, rocky cliffs, olive plantations and the famous Caves of Toirano, which preserve prehistoric finds and can be visited along an underground route almost 1400 metres long.
Toirano is the ideal base for those who love outdoor activities such as hiking, horseback riding and for those who want to take advantage of the many proposals of the Val Varatella, first of all the beautiful cliffs and numerous rock towers where you can practice free climbing.
This village can be reached in a few minutes from the motorway exit of Borghetto Santo Spirito, but also by bus. It is three kilometres from the sea: the nearest Riviera towns are Borghetto Santo Spirito, Loano and Pietra Ligure.
