The villa, built in 1938, has been recognized since 1988 as a National Monument of Modern Architecture by the Ministry of Culture and is bound by the Superintendency of Fine Arts: a rarity in Liguria, as the other National Monuments are all public buildings. It is located on the promontory of the Sestri Levante peninsula, in the province of Genoa, and is surrounded by the sea at 270 degrees: this position guarantees the maximum level of privacy. The villa is a singular work of the architect Luigi Carlo Daneri, the most important Genoese exponent of Italian rationalism : the park (2.3 hectares), designed by the architect himself, is one of the most surprising examples of "Mediterranean scrub" with ancient trees. The woods, the garden, the swimming pool, the patio, the football field, 4 terraces overlooking the sea and a private beach, accessible only from the villa, make this property unique on the Italian Riviera. Gio 'Ponti defined this villa: "One of the noblest testimonies of recent Italian architecture in this style." Large glass windows, which can be lifted using an original electrical system of the time, disappear into the ceilings, opening the living rooms and the dining room to the sea. A unique feature in the world. The designs, finishes, materials, furniture are very refined and of great value but absolutely never ostentatious, this is a very Genoese trait.
