Gretta - Barcola: Location and surroundings of this property

Following the beautiful panoramic road that leads to Trieste, first you will reach the district called Barcola; this thin strip of land between the mountain and the sea is sheltered from the fall wind, the bora and has been an upper class dwelling since the Roman Era.
This neighborhood starts at the impressive Victory Lighthouse and reaches until the Miramare Castle on the other side, which was once the residence of Austrian Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian; all this under the hills of the Napoleonic Road.
Barcola is only 3.5 km from the center of Trieste and the summer season here lasts from April to October. During winter months it is a perfect destination for long walks and it is a perfect spot to enjoy wonderful sunsets on the sea.
However, it is not only the beauty of this place that is so attracting for residents, but also the services it offers: numerous restaurants, banks, supermarkets, pharmacies, post offices and kindergartens, everything only a few steps away. Thanks to the public transportation and cycle paths towards the center, it can be reached easily in a few minutes even without taking the car.
