Colli: Location and surroundings of this property

San Vigilio is located in the green hills of Bergamo and it is reachable on foot or by cable car from Città Alta (The Old Town). On top of this hill there is the Castle, a mere stronghold which was the base of the defense of the ancient city whose upper esplanade is now adapted to a public park. From the top of the castle (which today remain the thick walls and the four cylindrical towers equipped with gunboat) the lookouts were in continuous visual contact with the towers and fortresses located in strategic points to the great panoramic views. Today San Vigilio is a very elegant and quiet residential area where around every corner you can see really beautiful views. It is only 10 km from the International Airport of Orio al Serio and 5 km from the entrance of the A4 motorway connecting Bergamo to Milan, Brescia and Venice.
