One of the greatest photographers in the world, the American Steve McCurry (Philadelphia, 1950), pays homage to the Bel Paese with a photographic story on the notes of Puccini's "Nessun Dorma". McCurry, famous for his reportages ranging from street photography to war photography and from urban photography to portrait, has decided to create a video with the shots taken during his travels in Italy to show his love for our country even in this perdiod.
In the introduction to the video, the photographer writes: "Italy has drawned me back more times than I could count" "The Italian ethos is based on living life well and to the fullest and that joy of living remains even in these times"
The wonderful images of McCurry, ranging from Venice to the Val d'Orcia, from Naples to Umbria and Sicily, are interspersed with quotes from important exponents of international culture who, like him, have fallen in love with our country: from Samuel Johnson to Giuseppe Verdi, passing through Goethe and Dickens. Italy therefore continues to fascinate famous people all over the world thanks to its breathtaking landscapes, its cities of art and the quality of life that only the “Belpaese” can offer.
"Italy is a dream that keeps returning for the rest of your life" Anna Akhmatova
