Asciano celebrates the art for a long weekend in the spring: from Friday 8 to Sunday, April 10 in the heart of the Crete Senesi three days dedicated to culture and the extraordinary artistic heritage of this corner of Tuscany. It is "Asciano City of Art", which offers a rich program of initiatives aimed at the discovery and the wider dissemination and use of artistic and cultural treasures of the area. Special guest for the ribbon-cutting will be Vittorio Sgarbi, who at 18 in the church of St. Francis held a lecture entitled "The (lost) role of the intellectual".

"Doors open in the museums and churches in very exceptional cases on 9 and 10 April tourists and citizens can get lost discovering the artistic and cultural treasures kept in the Civic Museum, Archaeological and Religious Art of Palazzo Corboli and Amos Cassioli Museum as well as in the churches of St. Francis and St. Augustine as well as in the basilica di Sant'Agata. Free guided tours are scheduled from 15 to 17 on Saturday 9 April and a visit to the 10 and then at 15 and 17 on Sunday, April 9. The meeting point is the tourist office and after each visit will be offered the participants a tasting of local products.
