Lorenzo Vanni was born in San Gusmé, a village in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga. After living in Florence for many years, he decided to return to his home - the Chianti - and live there.
And here he spawned a unique work of art with simple means, but with a brilliant idea. In front of the breathtaking landscape of hills and vineyards, he ... put up a window. "The window should be an opportunity to draw the visitor's attention to the beautiful Chianti landscape," he explains.
And not only the landscape behind it, but also the window itself can tell a story: Until the restoration this was originally a window of Lorenzo Vanni's farmhouse which looked into the garden where some artists met. The photos that many local and foreign interested people are now taking in front of this window in the beautiful Chianti landscape teach us a small lesson: passion for the region and a simple idea are enough to create something special out of something normal.
After all, it's the Chianti Classico: you don't need a glittering tinsel to highlight its imposing beauty. An old window is also enough.
