The Puccini Festival of Torre del Lago is one of the most desired events of the rich cultural life of Tuscany, one of the most important festivals in Italy and it is dedicated to the Lucca composer Giacomo Puccini. It takes place every summer, in the months of July and August, in the Master's residence that inspired most of his immortal operas. Established in 1930 with the passing of the years it has become an increasingly prestigious event and it attracts thousands of spectators that come from all over the world in order to listen to the greatest stars of opera, under the direction of important conductors and admiring extraordinary settings taken care of by the most famous directors of the Puccini masterpieces. The operas of Puccini are staged in a large open-air theater of 3400 seats, on the lakeside, surrounded by greenery and in front of the Giacomo Puccini House Museum where the remains of the musician are kept and where you can admire finds and memorabilia of the life and the glorious artistic life of the Master. Every year the museum welcomes thousands of enthusiasts and this place becomes the starting point to discover numerous and interesting cultural itineraries of the province of Lucca and in the most important Tuscan cities of art.
