This year again, Luxembourg is celebrating the Octave, the most important religious event of the country.
Emblematic in the capital since 1666, this celebration is steeped in history and tradition. Every year, pilgrims travel to Luxembourg-city to honor Virgin Mary Notre-Dame of Luxembourg, patron of the city and of the Grand-Duchy.

La fête de l’Octave est célébrée par tous les habitants du Luxembourg ! On this occasion, the charming Octave market is installed around the Cathedral, more precisely Place Guillaume-II and on the Constitution Place. Each year, it attracts more than 90.000 persons who come to celebrate the Octave around this great market where you can find games of skill as well as local gastronomy stands.
The Octave is a great opportunity to give in to traditional fried fish (gebakene Fësch) and potato pancakes (Gromperekichelcher).
