With the coastal race scheduled for today, June 10, 2014, at 12 am, starts the Audi TP52 World Championship, organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, also valid as a second stage of the Barclays 52 Super Series, the Class Mediterranean circuit.
9 teams participating, after completing the registration procedures and tested the waters off Porto Cervo, will kick off this highly-anticipated competition. Among the favorites Azzurra (YCCS) by Alberto Roemmers who will try to defend his leadership by the American Quantum Doug DeVos. Both boats will be guided by two tactical top-notch, professional America's Cup, which will compete in both windward-leeward regatta that coastal paths: Azzurra will be led by the Italian Vasco Vascotto, while the American Terry Hutchinson on board Quantum. But the challenge is made more difficult by the Italians B2 and Hurakan, carrying veterans and tactical America's Cup.

It's a great fleet, carrying professional sailing world; and with a mix of windward-leeward and coastal courses in the program, we expect an exciting week of racing. Of course we'll be rooting for Azzurra wearing the burgee of the Club, but we wish all the teams good wind and a great week of racing. "
The event will conclude Saturday, June 14th and promises great emotions, both for the importance of the stakes, and for the presence of renowned international sailing champions.
