Durgerdam is a sparsely populated district of Amsterdam North but a very cozy and peaceful village. The former fishing village is a conservation area. Durgerdam offers a marina, various sports clubs and is the ultimate place for water sports. There are many wonderful cycling, walking and skating routes throughout the Waterland area. Durgerdam is easy accessible by car from Amsterdam, from the A10 highway and there is also a bus service. There is a parking possibility on the dike with a parking exemption for residents (€ 110 per 2 years).
The characteristic houses are close by the A10 highway, Schellingwouder bridge (to Schellingwoude), Piet Hein tunnel (to Amsterdam) and Ransdorp.
