After Paderne, let’s go to Algoz, a village in the municipality of Silves, which has some historical references, and whose name derived from the King of Castile when he passed through and replied to his knights that "Algo és” (You are something).

In São Bartolomeude Messines, village of Arab origin, and where the Battle of Sant'Ana took place, we can take a glimpse at the Mother Church, a unique and original monumento in all the region, built in the reign of  D. Manuel.

São Marcos da Serra, a rural parish, is located on the border with the Alentejo and between the Serras de Monchique and Caldeirão. The natura lsurroundings, the beauty of the hills, the narrow and steep streets, the beauty of the typical chimneys and its Mother Church that dates back to the 18thcentury, are a real tourist attraction.

The Serra de Monchique, rich in fauna and flora, attracts many tourists who seek to practice adventure sports or just making picnics or hiking through the breathtaking scenery. You cannot miss visiting Caldas de Monchique, a thermal building constructed by the Romans in order to resort to the medicinal waters for the treatment of respiratory, muscular and rheumatic diseases.
