Portugal was elected for the second consecutive year "The Best Destination in the World". The country won a total of 17 "Tourism Oscars", awarded by the World Travel Awards, in a ceremony that for the first time in 25 years took place in Portugal. The city of Lisbon was also one of the winners chosen as the "Best Destination City" and "Best Destination City Break".
Portugal has faced countries as South Africa, Brazil, Spain, USA, Greece, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Malaysia, Maldives, Morocco, New Zealand, Kenya, Rwanda, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. It is also worth noting that the country was re-elected in June of this year for the second consecutive year as the "Best Tourist Destination in Europe"
