Portugal is the new destination for emigrants, not only with the lush nature and the extraordinary interesting sights this wonderful country triumphs but also how it overcomes the energy crisis very easily with clean energy.
Currently, Portugal's domestic primary energy production is based almost exclusively on renewable energy sources (RES) from natural resources (hydro, wind, biomass, solar and geothermal) that renew themselves naturally and regularly in a sustainable way after generating electricity or heat.
As an example, in 2018, the plants supplied exactly 103.6 per cent of the electricity needed on a monthly average, surpassing the previous record of 99.2 per cent set in February 2014.
Moreover, for the first time in 40 years, Portugal managed to meet all its electricity demand with renewable energy in March 2018.
Green MEP Claude Turmes praised Portugal's "impressive" progress and called for the EU to support a more ambitious target of more than 27 per cent renewables in the overall energy mix for 2030.
In today's world, the economy is very important and rightly so, our environment and the way we treat it thank us, for example, with high-quality water, just as the whole of Portugal has excellent drinking water.
The municipality of Caldense (Caldas da Rainha in Leiria) was awarded in 2021 for the quality of its drinking water, for the third time in a row, with the exemplary quality seal for water for human consumption, awarded by ERSAR (Water and Waste Management Regulatory Agency).
The whole of the Silver coast and Oeste belongs to the municipality of Leiria and, of course, its beautiful properties.
Lisbon, on the other hand, is not far to the east and is more popular than ever among tech industry insiders, and I quote: "Portugal's tech industry is growing twice as fast as any other tech hub in Europe, it has never been easier to start up or freelance in Lisbon".
Apart from how wonderful Portugal is in general, with its green landscape and kilometres of bays and beaches, there is only ONE thing to say: Portugal I love you!
