Avenidas Novas: Location and surroundings of this property

When Lisbon expanded in the middle of the 20th century, it did so to the north, moving away from the river, resulting in residential and business areas on long avenues. They became known as "Avenidas Novas" where beautiful palaces were originally built. Some original buildings still survive.
