A unique property in unbeatable natural surroundings. La Galeta is a farmhouse built in 1920 and designed by an English architect. It is surrounded by 2 hectares of gardens designed by an Italian landscaper and a 19-hectare wood. With a hip roof and Masonic symbols in the layout of the vegetation, it is a unique property in rural Uruguay and is situated just an hour from Montevideo and Colonia right in the middle of the corridor of Highway 1. The building measures 150m2 and comprises three bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en suite), spacious living room with semicircular wood burning stove and a large kitchen. Adjoining the house, there is an enclosure measuring 112m2 which contains a swimming pool heated by two pumps which maintain the water at a temperature of 37 degrees. The gardens that surround the house form a circle with an 80m radius and consist of mature blue cedar trees, cypresses and palms, which were planted during the design of the gardens. There are also newer species such as casuarinas, paradises, acacias and other deciduous species that create a cool microclimate in summer and a warm one in winter. In this area, there is also a barbecue, an artificial lake and a small corral with farm animals.
