The prestigious newspaper 'The New York Times' has visited our country and its journalist describes Uruguay as a little country 'with a relaxed atmosphere, which is like Xanax for the soul, as well as being home to some of the best beaches in South America'.
The report mentions several important features in our city, such as the beautiful views from Punta Ballena and the museum of Casapueblo built by the well-known Uruguayan artist, Carlos Páez Vilaró.
The reporter describes Punta del Este as a favourite holiday destination of the Argentine and Brazilian high society who love dancing at night clubs into the early hours and enjoy the beach during the day in a relaxed and glamorous atmosphere. A selfie by the emblematic sculpture 'Los Dedos', a meal at the restaurant Cantina del Vigía, the modern Garzón bridge, a visit to the Garzón wine cellar and water sports on Garzón lagoon are just some of the activities recommended by the journalist.
In José Ignacio town with its beach style and elegant houses, the restaurant La Huella is a must.
