In collaboration with the Gardens Shopping Centre "Swing into Summer" expo, Engel & Völkers City Bowl decided to treat their clients to an afternoon of class and style. Offering an experience of blissful Wine and Chocolate Truffle pairing.
Everyone knows Cape Town has the most beautiful views and beaches, but the locals know that some of the best winemakers come straight out of the Western Cape. Lucky for us, Backsberg and Boland winemakers offered delicious wine to make our event a success.
Backsberg's offering was a lovely red 2014 Merlot, 2014 cabernet sauvignon, 2016 White Chenin Blanc and 2016 white Sauvignon Blanc. Our clients really enjoyed the Chenin Blanc and Merlot, especially when paired with the nougat and raspberry truffles. Backsberg estate cellars is situated in beautiful Paarl only a few kms out of town. If you would like to visit their wine farm, they offer wine tastings and a lovely restaurant to enjoy and relax. They have many other events throughout the year.
Boland Cellars offered their famous Cappupino Ccinotage red wine. This was a favourite when paired with the espresso truffles. Boland Cellars is also situated in lovely Paarl and offer snack and wine pairing platters for R65.
Norman Goodfellows in the Gardens shopping centre is one of the distributors for both wines.
Wine is always a good idea but pairing it up with a refined luxury that should be savoured, enjoyed and appreciated, takes it to another level. Chocolate should be silky smooth and as it slowly melts in your mouth, it should be full of rich and indulgent cocoa flavour, which is what Tomes does effortlessly. Engel & Völkers teamed up with Tomes Chocolate from the centre to bring out this lovely sensation to our clients.
Tomes make their premium African Origin Chocolate using only ingredients sourced from Africa. Which is sought after by popular European chocolatiers.
