The increasingly sought-after and rather lovely suburb of Higgovale is located in the City Bowl, the beating heart of Cape Town, sitting snugly between the harbour and the mountain.
Bordered by Camps Bay to the West and Oranjezicht to the East, with Lions Head to its immediate north west, Higgovale boasts some of the most spectacular views in Cape Town, and that is no mean feat when you consider that Cape Town is one big, awe inspiring view!
In spite of its somewhat lofty position, Higgovale is ideally located for many of the city’s most popular hotspots – the bistros and boutiques of Kloof Street, the glorious Table Mountain National Park, the V&A and the Atlantic beaches.
Needless to say, it is becoming something of a residential jewel, with sedate, tranquil homes nestling into the mountain side, minutes from urban buzz, and boasting breathtaking views.
Scaling the mountain
Lion’s Head – 1.5 hours to the summit
India Venster - 3-4 hours to the summit
Higgovale Quarry - was once a shooting range and lies just beyond Molteno Reservoir, providing some superb bolted slab/face climbs.
