In what could be described as the perfect storm, there will shortly be a wonderful convergence of local brewed talent, an international idol and a sumptuous choice of food and drink in the City Centre.
The Pinelands Players, who have upheld the intrinsic values of true community theatre for over 60 years, are staging a brand new production at the New Space Theatre in town. Shaken, not Stirred is a rousing trip down the pant-seat-gripping memory lane of the iconic James Bond, who celebrates 50 years on our screens this year. This fabulous musical revue will indulge us with quintessential JB music, from Dr. No in 1963, right through to Skyfall in 2012.
Directed by Kyla Thorburn, the revue reflects on the everything that fashions Bond, James Bond – glamorous women, fabulous tunes, exoticism in the extreme. Accompanied by an eight piece band, and complemented by a sensational visual backdrop, it promises to thrill and entertain in equal measure.
Shaken, not Stirred will be staged at The New Space Theatre on the corner of Long and Hout Street from October 2nd – 10th inclusive. Evening shows are at 20.00 and Saturday matinees at 16.00. Indulge in pre- or post- dinner and drinks at Tiger’s Milk or the Alexander Bar. There is secure parking right across the road from the theatre, which is rather generously included in the ticket price.
Tickets are available through Quicket and are priced at R120 each.
