Durbanville - The place to be

Durbanville

The beauty that is Durbanville

Durbanville is one of the fastest growing towns in South Africa boasting several shopping centres, restaurants, pubs, guest houses and B&B's to suit your needs. With its upmarket tree-lined residential areas, Durbanville remains a much sought after neighbourhood in which to start a family, set up your first home as a young couple, or enjoy the life of a singleton.  It truly caters for every stage of life.  Many overseas visitors have returned to Durbanville as full time residents.

Relaxing in the Winelands

The town, being centrally located and within minutes to the major highways into the city of Cape Town makes it perfect for both business and leisure activities.  There is definitely no shortfall of talent in this industrious town. From potters to manufacturing jewellers, winemakers, cheesemakers, quilters, artists, prize gardeners, tailors, medical specialists, photographers - you name it, you will be sure to locate it in Durbanville.

Morne Vorster, Licence Partner of Engel & Völkers Durbanville added that, “Despite the fact that Durbanville has grown tremendously in the past 30 years, it retains a considerable individuality and character with a rural atmosphere and architecture”.

We are truly where our clients live - E&V Durbanville

One of the major events in Durbanville this October is “Season of Sauvignon in Durbanville” held on the 25th October 2014. The Durbanville Wine Valley signals the start of white wine season with a jubilant weekend long celebration of extreme fun.  Match fun with family and friends on wine farms in the picturesque Durbanville area. This year also sees the return of the popular “Durbanville Sauvignon Wine Ferry:, taking to the air on Saturday, 2nd October for an adventure of fine wines and brilliant views in a fleet of

Base 4 helicopters. With stop-overs at De Grendel, Durbanville Hills and Meerendal, this unique way of exploring the wine-lands allow for leisurely wine-tasting before taking off to the next wine destination.

“With glamorous sister areas like Constantia and Stellenbosch, Durbanville gets a little overlooked as a wine route. But with generations of wine families and a history that stems back to the 17th century, it should be a stop on any wine appreciation tour,” added Mary-Ann Vorster, Licence Partner of Engel & Völkers Durbanville.

The Engel & Völkers Shop is to open its doors end October, and Mary-Ann and Morne invite all residents to visit their new shop, located at Shop 46, Cobble Walk Centre, Cnr De Villiers and Verdi Boulevard, Sonstraal Heights, Durbanville, for all their property requirements.
