For the self-confessed shopaholic, visitors who stay in the Parow area have access to the modern shopping scene in Cape Town. The gigantean Canal Walk offers hours of entertainment, add the Grand West Casino, which lies to the south of Goodwood, to the recipe for a memorable spending spree.
Plattekloof borders on the Tygerberg Nature Reserve. Here you can do a 7.5 km hike with incredible views of the entire Peninsula. The Durbanville Wine Route, with top quality wine estates, is close to Cape Town with the views from this area being spectacular - looking onto Table Mountain from various aspects.
Sanlam's Art Gallery, in Bellville, offers one of the largest corporate collections of South African art and is worth a visit too.
