51 ha in a Big 5 reserve with approximate 450 meter river frontage, comprising of 2 land portions. The property is currently utilized as a camp site with camping sites, 2 ablution blocks and a central steel structure to accommodate events. The managers house consisting of a canvas structure under thatch roof. A single borehole provides more than sufficient water to the entire property.
Grietjie has become one of the most sought after properties within the Lowveld area. The reserve is 2800 ha in extent, has approximately 6km of Olifants river frontage and forms part of the Balule Nature Reserve. Balule encompasses some 40 000 ha and straddles the Olifants river for over 25kms. Grietjie Reserve is home an amazing variety of game, with most of the common species being encountered, and has the added bonus of being home to the big 5. The reserve also boasts an amazing birding list with over 260 species having been recorded, including rarities such as the Pel's Fishing Owl.
Balule Nature Reserve, and therefore Grietjie by incorporation, is within the Greater Kruger National Park and the UNESCO proclaimed Kruger to Canyons Biosphere Reserve. This biosphere reserve is the largest of its kind in the world.
