Are you ready for your dream kitchen?

Have you already found your new home and are now looking for a suitable kitchen? The kitchen is often the heart of a home, where people meet to cook and chat. That is why sufficient time should be spent on planning the kitchen, because not much can be changed afterwards.

Are you ready for your dream kitchen?

The open-plan kitchen concept

Combining the kitchen and living area is a growing trend. Open-plan kitchens combine everyday cooking with socialising, making it possible to communicate and prepare food at the same time. Good ventilation, high quality cooker hoods and low-noise kitchen appliances are a must if you opt for an open-plan kitchen. It is also recommendable to visually separate the cooking area from the dining area, e.g. by installing a counter top. In this way, the cosy atmosphere is not disturbed by pots and pans or dishes that may still be standing around.

Choosing the right stove

Passionate (hobby) cooks generally prefer cooking with gas: Fast temperature control and cooking on an open flame leave more room for creativity. If you want to use a gas stove, you need a gas connection. If no gas connection is available, you can have one installed, but this is associated with high costs. Using gas cylinders is not advisable, since these need to be replaced regularly. But an electric stove also has its advantages. You can, for example, keep food warm on an already heated hob. Furthermore, electric stoves are safe and inexpensive. Induction stoves attempt to combine the advantages of a gas stove with the conveniences of an electrical stove. An induction hob is powerful and allows for precise cooking. Because it allows for quick temperature control, just like a gas stove, it also saves energy. And since only the bottom of the pot heats up, and not the cooktop, spills do not burn.

Kitchen trends 2016

White continues to be the colour of choice for kitchen fronts. The only difference is that matt is used instead of high-gloss. Ceramic kitchen worktops are trending, as they are hygienic, scratch-resistant and heat-resistant. Smart kitchens are becoming smarter still: It is possible, for example, to charge your mobile phone directly on the worktop, have a camera in your oven or refrigerator, or even have a flexible cooking surface. This saves time and energy, and the technology makes everyday cooking easier.
