Jeffrey Katzenberg’s former house encompasses two land plots
The chalet is situated in the sought-after ski region of “Deer Valley” and enjoys access to some of the finest ski slopes in North America. The approx. 409,500 square feet (approx. 38,000 square metre) estate spans two private land plots. The interior of the chalet itself is approx. 14,100 square feet (approx. 1,300 square metres) in size. Large window frontages frame the surrounding mountains to spectacular effect. The textiles and carpets incorporated into the interior furnishings reflect the typical webbed patterns of Utah’s indigenous people. The property has seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms, as well as an open plan living room with a large fireplace. “This home is one of a kind. Built by a dream team of world-class architects and designers, it blends in perfectly with its surroundings and has an authentic ski home charm,” said Paul Benson.
Famous figures from politics and showbusiness hosted at the “Family Trap”
Jeffrey Katzenberg is one of the big names in Hollywood. In 1994, as the head of “Disney Animation” at the time, he founded the “DreamWorks” film studio together with Steven Spielberg and David Geffen. Some of Mr. Katzenberg’s most notable productions include “Shrek”, “Madagascar” and “Over the Hedge”. The famous film producer invited many high-profile guests to his so-called “Family Trap”, among them Bill Clinton, Cameron Diaz, Tom Cruise and Michael Jackson. The chalet was nicknamed the “Family Trap” as it was always difficult to leave the magnificent house in the mountains.
