What’s your name and where are you from?
My name is Vladimir Kishlaly, I am from Crimea, Russia (Ukraine).
What do you do at E&V Technology?
As a Senior Backend Engineer I responsible for well designed, testable, and efficient code for our MicroServices. Currently, I am fortunate to work with guys from MasterData project which is designed to migrate all core features from old systems to new flexible architecture.
What are some of the challenges you have faced so far?
The biggest challenge I had to face so far was to ensure integrity between different services aimed to serve single distributed operation. For example, collect a lot of data and not to hang up the service. One of the hardest parts in distributes systems is a data consistency, so we have to support the whole data workflow without neglecting monitoring and logging.
My typical day at E&V Technology includes...
I do like to start my day from the most important and difficult tasks planned for that day, that is why very often I dive into the code since the first minutes trying to implement the feature (or to fix the annoying bug) I had been thinking the whole morning before. The rest of the day consists of a mix of communication with colleagues, having fun in meetings, writing and reading the code, reading tech articles & books when something is building or deploying.
What technology are you most excited about working with next?
I am very excited about using Kubernetes for microservices orchestration. This is a new experience for me and fortunately, our team has skilled specialists in that field so I can improve my knowledge. On those rare occasions when I have free time, I try to manage a dating with my new love - Kotlin programming language (greetings to St. Petersburg!). I met it two years ago and cannot forget since then. I believe that it is a future of programming languages, when written once code can be executed everywhere - either strong backend computations or lightweight mobile/web clients.
What was a great surprising thing you discovered after joining E&V Technology?
My new experience working in the new company has exceeded all expectations. I am really surprised about how friendly people can be. I do also appreciate the team culture of knowledge sharing.
I like my coffee...
I never drink coffee and other caffeinated drinks. I prefer herb tea or just a water. The daily regime and good food help me to maintain the cheerfulness and capacity to work.
