This unique village located on top of the Serra de Tramuntana and overlooking the Mediterranean, is crowned by the summit of mount Puig des Teix. Since the Sixties, many artists have settled in Deià, drawn by its natural beauty and the serenity it emanates. Deià has impressive walking and bycicle routes, and half a dozen museums. Its outstanding gastronomical selection includes Michelin Star restaurant Es Racó des Teix, and among its hotels is found Hotel Belmond La Residencia, among the best in the world. Minutes from the town is Cala Deià, a rocky cove with two restaurants renowned for their fish and seafood. Another cove called Llucalcari, 5 km away, may only be reached by foot or boat. This singular Mallorcan paradise has managed to preserve its bedazzling charm throughout the centuries.
