The property is located on via Dione, one of the main arteries of Ortigia. This long, narrow street follows the ancient decumanus major. Starting in front of the entrance to the temple of Apollo, it used to continue along Via Roma, passing the entrance to the temple of Athena (also facing east like all Greek temples). It then continued until it reached the entrance to the temple of Hera, which, according to historians and archaeologists, stood at the end of the present-day Maniace Castle. Via Dione has changed in appearance over time, little by little the ground floors are becoming small shops selling local crafts. In the apartments on the upper floors, the modern blends with the old in a cocktail of colors that recalls art and home automation. Via Dione is a running parallel to Corso Matteotti, Ortigia's famous shopping street, where hundreds of people a day stroll with sporting colourful clothes, ice creams, books and smiles. From the Temple of Apollo to the Fountain of Diana, one can walk among the shops or in the ancient and romantic silence of Via Dione.
