Farmstead in Las Taperas Gated Community

Las Taperas is a premium small-farm (“chacras”) development in the hills of Pueblo Edén, covering approximately 300 hectares, designed with a focus on low density, privacy, and a genuine connection with nature. It comprises about 70 chacras of roughly 5 hectares each, with a large portion of the land reserved for common areas such as hills, streams, waterfalls, and more than 100 hectares of protected native forest, which gives it a very strong advantage over other options. The project combines personal use with a hospitality-style service model. It has an electricity grid, water, and infrastructure to provide top service to owners. Controlled access, clubhouse, inn, park maintenance, housekeeping, firewood supply, laundry, and all the services needed to enjoy the property without having to spend time getting the house up and running. The heart of the project is the inn, developed by refurbishing historic buildings, which serves as a clubhouse for owners but also as a business unit. Rooms and event spaces are rented out, generating income that goes into a common fund and helps reduce common charges. In the past it operated as a boutique hotel and a venue for corporate and private events. As for amenities, in addition to the inn, the project offers stream frontage with areas suitable for swimming, trails, a pond with a dock, and natural spaces for activities. There is no in-house horse operation, but horseback rides are outsourced to neighbors, reducing operational complexity. The location is another strong point: near Pueblo Edén, about 50 km from Punta del Este and 140 km from Montevideo, achieving a very attractive balance between accessibility and seclusion.
