212 hectares in Garzón with olive trees in production
- ~2,120,000 m² Plot surface
Description
This is a 212-hectare countryside plot of which 145 hectares contain olive trees (plants, irrigation, buildings, roads, reservoirs) and 67 hectares are free. Currently, there are 19,079 plants of which 15,000 are in full production and about 2,500 more harvested for the first time. The plants are of the Arbequina, Coratina and Picual varieties which are the ones that have best adapted to Uruguay and are the most productive in oil. The plot has growth potential for 3,000 plants over the 145 hectares since the land is cleared and prepared, or some 12,500 additional plants in the 67 hectares that are still virgin. There are two artificial reservoirs of 14 and 5 million m3 respectively. The drip irrigation system provides water for them and at the same time they are fed by natural streams and rainwater. The internal roads are in excellent condition allowing for the harvest to be transported. There is electricity, two houses for staff and a shed.
