Description
Nestled on the slopes of the Bottelary Hills, Stellenbosch, this high altitude wine grape and protea producing farm offers amazing 360° views of the surrounding mountains, False Bay, Table Mountain etc. The farm is ideally located in a quiet and serene valley, yet only 45 minutes’ drive from Cape Town and 27 minutes from Stellenbosch.
Of the 97,1198 ha, approximately 38 ha is planted with wine grapes including Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauv Blanc, Cabernet, Merlot, Pinotage and Viognier. Grapes are supplied to well-known cellars in Franschhoek and Wellington and another producer. Approximately 6 ha is planted with Pincushions and Proteas which are processed on the farm and exported to Europe, Asia and others. There are 3 broadband towers on the farm providing additional income.
Infrastructure on the farm consists of the Manor House with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and open plan loft, a 2-bedroomed Managers cottage, a second house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, implement sheds, Protea processing shed and 8 workers cottages. All the buildings are maintained.
More than sufficient implements, vehicles and related equipment are included in the sale.
The registered water rights consist of 45,000 m³ surface water stored in 3 dams, 1 borehole from which may be extracted 37,000 m³ water per annum, 6,600 m³ scheme water as well as 2 registered fountains used for household purposes.
All vineyards and Proteas / Pincushions are provided with drip irrigation through an integrated system.
Electricity is supplied by Eskom as well as a 5Kva solar system that serves the Manor House.
The Seller is V.A.T. registered and the farm is sold as a going concern, including all the vehicles and equipment.
