The Matimba Bush Lodge is a small, exclusive and stylish boutique hotel in the immediate vicinity of the world-famous Kruger National Park in South Africa, combining nature-close living with high-end comfort. The property is situated on a one-hectare private estate in the renowned Golf Estate in Phalaborwa, right next to the local golf course and impresses with its unique setting and direct views of the Mala Mala Dam, where wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, antelope and hippos can regularly be observed. The lodge was created by South Tyrolean owners with great attention to detail and personally operated over many years, reflected in its well-considered architecture, premium fittings and distinctive atmosphere. The complex comprises four individually designed guest rooms, each dedicated to one of the “Big Five” and furnished in an authentic African style. Spacious bedrooms with king-size beds and mosquito nets, as well as elegant en-suite bathrooms featuring high-quality materials and in & outdoor showers, ensure a truly luxurious experience. Large window fronts create a direct connection to the surrounding nature. The communal areas also impress with a coherent overall concept: an open lounge with bar, an inviting dining area, and expansive outdoor spaces with terrace, pool and traditional boma area offer ideal conditions for relaxation and sociable hours in an extraordinary setting. Twenty solar panels ensure that the facility has a self-sufficient power supply. To date, the lodge has been successfully used for tourism and offers a wide range of uses, for example as an exclusive private residence or continued as a hospitality operation. The forthcoming transfer of ownership will allow the existing business model to be continued, further developed and/or customised, opening up interesting opportunities for investors or operators.
