The location is really good, as La Estrada is a municipality 28 km from Santiago. The municipality is crossed by the N-640 road, by the Central de Galicia motorway (AP-53) and by the N-525 road between Km 314 and 321, as well as by the road GPS coordinates 42.692667, -8.492022. For centuries they have been mentioned in papal bulls, royal privileges and other documents, and A Estrada preserves up to 19 churches dating from the 10th and 13th centuries in a clearly Romanesque style. If there is one star visit in A Estrada, it is the stately Pazo de Oca, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and which today belongs to the Dukes of Medinaceli. The origins of the pazo date back to the 13th century, although the current buildings date back to the 18th century, in baroque style. The protagonist of the gardens is the camellia, which abounds here in almost all its varieties and for which the pazo is part of the Route of the Camellias of Galicia. La Estrada has all the necessary services to live, supermarkets, pharmacies, schools, and many more. Very close to La Estrada is the recreational area of O Xirimbao, located on the river Ulla, in Teo, in the aforementioned parish of Reis. Just in front and joined by the suspension bridge is the province of Pontevedra, with the municipality of A Estrada on the banks of the Ulla.
