Soto del Real is located 46 km from Madrid and 11 km from Colmenar Viejo and is close to other towns such as Manzanares el Real, Guadalix de la Sierra, Miraflores de la Sierra and the spectacular Pedriza. Soto del Real is a town of 8,500 inhabitants and is located in a privileged natural environment of the Sierra de Madrid, on the southern slope of the Sierra de Guadarrama.
