It occupies a former estate belonging to the Marquis of Urquijo, which in the 17th century belonged to the Marquis of Larios and was acquired by an investment group which included Juan Lladó (president of Banco Urquijo). It is the usual place of residence for aristocrats and famous personalities, the Somosaguas Campus of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) with the faculties of Psychology, Economics and Business, Social Work, Sociology and Political Science, the RTVE building and the Somosaguas golf course are located in Prado de Somosaguas. The municipality is home to the exclusive private urbanisation "La Finca", considered the most secure and inaccessible in Europe, which gives its name to the modern and cosmopolitan La Finca Business Park, home to some of the leading companies such as Microsoft, Orange and Accenture, among others. It has high level sports facilities such as the Valle de Las Cañas Sports Centre, Rebook Sport Place, Pozuelo SportsClub. At present, La Colonia de los Ángeles, Prado, La Finca, Somosaguas Centro, constitute a single neighbourhood that stretches from Ciudad de la Imagen, La Finca, to Humera, its geographical boundary being La Casa de Campo.
