Petra is a rural town located in the centre of Mallorca with around 2.700 inhabitants. Its peak known as Puig de Bonany, boasts a view over a large part of the island, stretching up to the Bay of Alcudia. Petra has a variety of supermarkets, restaurants and cafeterias, as well as a pharmacy and a sports centre. The weekly market takes place on Wednesdays. Most of its houses have stone façade and their entrances usually feature a stone archway. This small town is home to the museum of the well-known Fray Junípero Serra. Petra is located 40 minutes away from Palma, 50 from the airport, and the nearby beaches can be reached within a 20 minute drive.
