Engel & Völkers presents a beautiful vintage villa in El Rompido, surrounded by nature and tranquility on all four sides and, moreover, just a 1-minute walk from the beach. The villa is named "Lontana," and its surface area is 365m2, plus another 60m2 of its patios and terraces. Its functional program is developed around a central courtyard. This courtyard is a square space of just over 25m2 that not only serves to provide light but also generates magnificent air currents to combat summer temperatures. The east and south sides of this courtyard are in contact with the garage, the entrance hall, the dining room, the living room, and the kitchen, while the west and north sides are occupied by two bathrooms and three bedrooms. The garage has space for two vehicles and a boat. Upon leaving it, we will cross the entrance hall and reach the protagonist of this house: the large dining room with the integrated living room and kitchen. It is a very well-lit space, as it not only receives light through the three large windows of the central courtyard but also from the exterior landscaped square through a skylight in the roof. The sequence of this unique space continues and ends with a spacious laundry room and stairs leading to the roof, which is walkable. From there, and walking around the courtyard, you can check the condition of the villa's tiles. At this level, there is a small storage room to store all kinds of gadgets, and through a metal staircase, you can also climb to a small lookout tower, which serves as a watchtower for the ship, to contemplate the mouth of the Piedras River. Returning to the interior, the three main bedrooms of this house (all with built-in wardrobes) have their access through a corridor adjacent to the west side of the courtyard. One of them also has direct access to the garage. The fourth room could be considered auxiliary or service, and it has access only from the garage. The villa has an attached small studio, a space designed to serve many purposes: guest area, work area, workshop, etc. It can be accessed from the external garden or from the garage. The second bathroom of the house is strategically located near the garage and is designed with two showers resembling a sports club. In this way, it has a public tone that the guest appreciates. The villa was built on a plot of approximately 1,200m2, and, in its day, it was located in the northern part of it, leaving its free part defined in the south. Here, a small square was designed, where the owners organized their parties and gatherings with friends. In the southwest corner of it, the circular pool was built. As can be seen, thirteen large pine trees have survived on this plot, whose magnificent shadows are appreciated during the summer. Among them, there are several light points for nighttime lighting that turn the garden into an intimate and cheerful space. In addition to the above, this villa has two basements. The main and largest is actually a semi-basement and has access from the garage. Its reason for being this way has its origin in raising the level of the house above the natural terrain. In this way, we move away from the water table. The other, smaller basement was built around the pool basin. Here, the purifier is located in a separate space, and, primarily, bunk beds were built to accommodate any emergencies of visiting friends in summer. The original owners of this villa reside more than 1,000 kilometers from El Rompido; a distance that, every summer, they had to travel to reach their beloved vacation destination. In a romantic way, they decided to name the villa "Lontana," an Italian word that means precisely that: distance.
