Within the Guadarrama National Park, we find this small village, Mataelpino. Belonging to the Boalo Town Hall, it is located fifty-four kilometers from Madrid, accessible via two routes, the M-607 or the A-6 highway. If instead of heading towards the capital we head north, we will find other very touristic villages nearby, such as Manzanares el Real, Becerril de la Sierra, or Navacerrada. But if we come here to live or enjoy a second residence, it will not only be to enjoy the cool nights of the mountains but to explore the various trails that run through here, rock climbing in La Pedriza just over two kilometers away, or the obligatory passage for every walker heading to Santiago on their pilgrimage. The village of Boalo is considered the village with the best ecological policy in Spain, maintaining its own herds of goats, creating routes so that children can go to various public and private schools by bicycle on what they call safe paths. There is a system of neighbor transfer between the three villages via hitchhiking, pioneering at a national level. As you can see, defining Mataelpino and its surroundings would take many more lines.
