Sesimbra's coastline has a unique diversity of landscapes, including some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. On the west coast, the area is cut by the Albufeira Lagoon, which is popular for windsurfing and kitesurfing. A little further south is Moinho de Baixo beach, next to Aldeia do Meco, characterised by its long stretches of sand. Continuing along the coast you come to Rio da Prata, one of the first naturist beaches in the country, and then you come to Praia das Bicas, a favourite spot for surf lovers. From there, the cliffs become increasingly high and steep, welcoming small coves such as Foz or Lagosteiros, beaches that impress with their beauty and geological interest. After ‘doubling’ Cape Espichel, the south coast unveils small coves that are difficult to access, shrouded in mystery and pirate stories. Its exceptional geographical location gives it a uniqueness all of its own, which is reflected in the beauty and immensity of the landscape.
