It is bordered by the municipalities of Petra, Villafranca de Bonany, Montuïri, Lloret de Vistalegre, and Sineu. The town celebrates its local festivities on the 29th August, which include several concerts and an impressive fireworks display. Sant Joan is very well known due to its central location. It is only 10 minutes away from the emblematic village of Sineu, the ancient capital of Mallorca in Roman times. The centre of Palma can be reached in 40 minutes by car, as well as the nearby beaches. The airport is 35 minutes away.
